Small Business Concerna concern, including affiliates, that
for subcontracts valued at (1) $10,000 or less, does not have more than 500 employees;
and (2) More than $10,000, does not have employees or average annual receipts exceeding
the size standard in 13 CFR Part 121 (see FAR 19.102) for the product or service it is
providing on the subcontract.
Small Disadvantaged Business Concerna small business
(under the size standard) and
- is CERTIFIED as a Small Disadvantaged Business (by the SBA or an approved
certifier)
- whose individual owner's/owners' net worth doesn't exceed $750,000 (after
certain exclusions), and
- is identified as an SDB in Central
Contractor Registration (CCR). If you are a minority owned firm and have
not been certified by the SBA and feel you can qualify for this program,
please review the application form found through the SBA
Web page. Your local Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) can provide
assistance in completing this application process.
Women-Owned Small Business Concerna small business
(1) that is at least 51 percent owned by one or more women, or, if a publicly
owned business, at least 51 percent of the stock is owned by one or more women;
and, (2) whose management and daily business operations are controlled by
one or more women.
Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerna small business
(1) not less than 51 percent of which is owned by veterans or, if a publicly
owned business, not less than 51 percent of the stock is owned by one or more
veterans; and (2) the management and daily business operations are controlled
by veterans.
Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerna
small business for which (1) not less than 51 percent of which is owned by
service-disabled veterans or, if a publicly owned business, not less than
51 percent of the stock is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans;
and (2) the management and daily business operations are controlled by veterans
with a disability which is service connected or, in the case of a service-disabled
veteran with permanent and severe disability, the spouse or permanent caregiver of such veteran.
HUBZone Small Business Concerna small business located
in a historically underutilized business zone that has been certified by the
SBA and who appears on the list of qualified HUBZone small business concerns
in Central Contractor Registration (CCR).

Indian Organizationmeans the governing body of any
Indian tribe or entity established or recognized by the governing body of
an Indian tribe for the purposes of 25 U.S.C. chapter 17. (Ref. FAR 52.226-1).
Indian Owned Economic Enterprisemeans any Indian-owned
(as determined by the Secretary of the Interior) commercial, industrial, or
business activity established or organized for the purpose of profit, provided
that Indian ownership constitutes not less than 51 percent of the enterprise
(Ref. FAR 52.226-1).
Historically Black College or Universitymeans an
institution determined by the Secretary of Education to meet the requirements
of 34 CFR 608.2. The term also includes any nonprofit research institution
that was an integral part of such a college or university before November
14, 1986.
Minority Institutionmeans an institution of higher
education meeting the requirements of Section 1046(3) of the Higher Education
Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1067k, including a Hispanic-serving institution of
higher education, as defined in Section 316(b)(1) of the Act (20 U.S.C. 11101a)).
