In October 2002, Aerojet acquired General Dynamics' Space Propulsion and Fire Suppression
business historically referred to as the Redmond Rocket Center.
Aerojet's Redmond Operations provides a wealth of spacecraft and space lift propulsion
capabilities, including spacecraft propulsion systems, core products in monopropellant hydrazine
thrusters, bipropellant engines, and electric propulsion systems including power processing units.
Aerojet Redmond also brings more than 30 years of fire suppression expertise in solid propellant and hybrid (solid plus gas or liquid) fire extinguishers as well as system design and development.
