Aerojet and its parent company, GenCorp, recognize that the economic, social,
and physical environments in which our company operates have significant impact
on our future business success. Aerojet has always acknowledged its responsibility
as a corporate citizen by devoting an appropriate level of resources to our
communities while providing financial resources through the GenCorp
Foundation.
Aerojet strongly encourages its employees to participate in community projects
where they live and work.
Community Leadership Awards
Aerojet established these awards to recognize and support employees who demonstrate
a high level of volunteer time and effort with non profit organizations. Employees
selected for this award may receive a grant made payable to the organization
for which he or she actively volunteers.
Challenger Learning Center
Aerojet co-founded and led fundraising and planning efforts for the Challenger
Learning Center located at the Discovery Museum in Sacramento. Built in 1996,
the center teaches students how to solve problems using science and technology
in hands-on, simulated space station and mission control environments. It
is one of a string of Challenger Learning Centers developed by the families
of the astronauts who died in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.
Aerojet continues to support the center and in April 1999 donated a refurbished
Titan II first-stage rocket engine to help teach rocketry to children. The
Discovery Museum Challenger Learning Center is located at 3615 Auburn Blvd.,
Sacramento, California 95821.

Adventures in Aerospace
Aerojet's Adventures in Aerospace program expands the knowledge and imagination
of local community school children. Nearly 40 Aerojet employees volunteer
their time and energy to visit schools and present interactive programs on
rockets, space flight and exploration, lunar landings, and other space achievements.
Company Tours
Aerojet is a government contractor and a secured facility. While tours are
arranged for customers, business partners, and government representatives,
Aerojet discourages tours for church, school, or civic groups by employees
or retirees. Safety and security issues are our paramount concern.
